In my past career I got the opportunity to work with Mahindra 4-wheelers division. and My professional career was really well as Mahindra Group is always been one the the more favorable company to work with in India.Chairman : Anand MahindraCountry : IndiaStarted Since : 1945Revenue : 105,806 Crore (2019) Mahindra & Mahindra started back in 1945 before the division of India. The name was “Muhammad & Mahindra” and later it changed to ‘Mahindra & Mahindra’. Mr. Keshub Mahindra has started this company and after 48 years he retired from the position of Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra group. He was on this position for the period of 1963 to 2012 and after request from the board members Mr. Keshub Mahindra is still serving as ‘Chairman Emeritus”. On 8 August 2012 his nephew- Mr. Anand Mahindra became the chairman of the group.. Mahindra & Mahindra Board Of Directors:

1977– International Tractor Company India merged with M&M to become the Tractor Division of the company.

 1979- M&M tied up with Peugeot, France to manufacture XDP 4.90 diesel engines.1983- M&M becomes market leader in the Indian tractor industry and has retained this position till date. 

1986- Partnership with British Telecom. Laid the foundation for Tech Mahindra‘s presence in IT which was a sunrise sector at that time.

1991- Set up Mahindra Finance to drive financial inclusion particularly in rural areas.1994- Established Mahindra USA (MUSA) to assemble and sell tractors in the hyper-competitive US market.1995– JV with Ford helped drive our automotive technology expertise.1996- Established Mahindra Holidays, a timeshare concept.1997- The Mahindra United World college of India inaugurated in Pune bringing world class education to India.2000 Launched Bolero; becomes India’s largest selling SUV, 10 years in a row.

 Launched Mahindra Scorpio. Developed ‘Mahindra World City’, Chennai, a pioneering development and precursor to Smart Cities.

2007– Acquired the ailing Punjab Tractors and turned it around. Changed the name to ‘Swaraj Division‘ in 2009.

2009- Acquired GippsAero and AeroStaff in Australia marking the rise of Aerospace. Entered solar energy sector.2010– Launched XUV5OO, first global SUV model. Bought South Korean SUV maker SsangYong Motor.2012- MRV R&D centre inaugurated; the cradle of innovation and hub of Mahindra’s Global Neural Network of automotive and tractor innovation.2013– Tech Mahindra & Satyam merged to create India’s 5th largest IT services company -‘Tech Mahindra‘.2014- Mahindra Racing enters Formula E-electric racing car series, as one of the founding teams.2015– A record number of auto launches – 14 new models.2016- Launched GenZe – smart electric scooter, in USA.2015-2017 –Expanded global presence by three acquisitions in the Farm sector- Sampo (Finland), Hisarlar (Turkey) and Mitsubishi (Japan).2017- India’s first driver-less tractor developed and demonstrated. Now comes to the story of it’s subsidiary “Mahindra Electric”-

Reva Electric Car Company (RECC) founded in 1994 was the joint venture between The Maini Group and AEV LLC of USA. Mr. Chetan Maini is the founder of the Maini Groups. RECC was focused only to produce an affordable compact electric car. Company has patents in energy management, remote diagnostics and battery management. Company 1st launched 2-seater Reva electric vehicle in Bangalore. Same vehicle was also launched in London as the G-Wiz in 2004. REVAi electric car was the flagship electric car and it was launched in 24 countries. Mahindra & Mahindra Group took over the ‘Reva Electric Car Company’ in 2010 by purchasing it’s 55.2% share. This is known as Mahindra Electric now. Manufacturing Plant:   ‘Mahindra Electric’ manufacturing plant is located in Bangalore. Mahindra Electric operating philosophy is – ‘Born Green’. Company always put the effort to minimize environmental impact across all the business area. Bangalore based manufacturing plant is ultra-low carbon assembly plant and developed in certified PLATINUM – which is the highest rating for a green plant. The entire building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited allowing thecompany to boast one of the lowest dirt-to-dust carbon footprints in the automotive world.

Years & Milestone :

1994: Reva company founded in US.1997: Reva India operation begins.2001: Reva-i launched.2007: New Reva-i launched with Li-ion.2010: Mahindra acquires majority stakes in REVA. Renamed ‘Mahindra REVA’.2012: Mahindra Reva manufacturing facility inaugurated. Gets IGBT PLATINUM rating.2013: Launched e2O. Featured in top 50 innovative companies.2014: Halo sports concept car showcased. Quick2Charge fast charging launched.2015: Successful deployment of fleet business.2016: ‘Mahindra Reva’ is now ‘Mahindra Electric’.2016 (June) : eVerito electric sedan launched.2016 (September) : eSupro cargo EV launched.2016 (October) : e2O Plus 4 door EV launched.And since then Mahindra Electric is progressing by investing into it’s R&D. This is the reason that Indian people happily accepting their products.

e2O Plus : This is perfect for everyday ride having driving range up to 140 kms.

eAlfa : This is best suited for the last mile connectivity in major metros

eSupro :  This is stylish and spacious van and cargo van with battery range of approx 112 kms.

eVarito : This is the first electric sedan in India having maximum driving range at full charge is 140 kms.

Treo : This is an electric 3-wheeler passenger vehicle having driving range up to 130kms.

Conclusion:

Mahindra and Mahindra is already having large customers  in India and they have really served the country better. During my work period in Mahindra & Mahindra and till date I have seen that product quality and customer satisfaction are always on top priority.
