As per the Environment organizations, 40% PM (particulate matter) comes out from tail pipe emission as well as the 80% NOx and CO2 emission is also caused by the same. So, to minimize this and control the air pollution now it became necessary to think of about clean transport solution.

The Delhi’s new electric vehicle policy provides special subsidies and incentives to the EV buyers. This will encourage people to move from an electric vehicle. As well as scrapping policy and the subsidies for the commercial EV buyers will further help to move towards cleaner transport in Delhi.

Main focus of the new EV Policy:

Subsidies under the New Electric Vehicle Policy:

Delhi Government has kept different subsidies for two-wheelers, 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers. So, let’s get to know for each one in detail here-

For Two-wheelers-

In Delhi new Electric Vehicle Policy the Battery capacity decides the subsidy amount. Per kWh = Rs. 5000/- . For those who want to scrap their ICE two-wheeler and planning to buy an electric one, then there is a scrapping incentives also introduced.

My Words:

Global warming and Environment pollution are now a major concern for all the human. UN as well as the youngsters is now raising the voice to take the bold step to control the pollution. This new initiative to come up with the new Electric Vehicle Policy will definitely catch the attention of many more buyers and shared transport service provider companies.

Elimination of registration charges and road taxes for all the EV is a good step to encourage to buy only EV now. 20% parking space reserve for the electric vehicle in any new building and commercial apartment will solve the charging problem as much extend. We all must appreciate this step of the Delhi Government and other State Governments also look into this.
