Ather’s average ex-showroom price rose from about ₹1.50 lakh to ₹1.64 lakh between Q4 FY26 and Q2 FY27, but CEO Tarun Mehta says no further hikes are planned in the December quarter.

Does the Ather Konarc Get PM E-DRIVE Subsidy?

PM E-DRIVE gives eligible electric two-wheelers ₹2,500 per kWh, capped at ₹5,000, for ex-factory prices up to ₹1.5 lakh, until 31 March 2028 (our guide). Eligibility rules apply. For more details ask your dealer.

Which Ather Konarc Variants Are on Sale Now and When Will the Rest Arrive?

  • S 125 km and S 161 km: on sale in select cities.
  • S 100 km (entry-level): Q4 FY27 (January–March 2027).
  • Z 125 km and 161 km: expected around Q1 FY28.
  • S 200 km: expected around Q3 FY28.

The rollout is phased: Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan first, then other northern, central and western states, with the south later. Deliveries have begun, including 500 units in Delhi in a single day.

Why Was the Entry-Level Ather Konarc S 100 Delayed to Q4 FY27?

The S 100, called SR1 on Ather’s analyst call, was originally planned for Q1 FY27. Ather now prioritises mid-range variants (SR2 and SR3) so the cheapest model does not cannibalise higher-margin ones while production is limited. Mehta called an early launch “a margin loss for us.”

The numbers explain the squeeze. Average monthly production is about 33,000 units, while roughly 18,000–20,000 units of monthly retail demand go unmet. Pre-orders more than doubled year-on-year to about 1.80 lakh units in Q2 FY27, and the Hosur plant ran at up to 98% utilisation. Fewer than 50 experience centres were added in two quarters.

Ather’s ₹122 Crore Capacity Expansion and What It Means for Konarc Availability

  • Hosur, Tamil Nadu: up to ₹58 crore; 4.2 lakh to 4.95 lakh units a year by December 2026.
  • AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: ₹64 crore; phased production from December 2026 at 5 lakh units, rising to 6.5 lakh by Q2 FY28.
  • Combined capacity: about 11.4 lakh units a year.

Ather expects the S 100 to drive far higher volumes once AURIC runs.

Ather Konarc vs Rizta and Other Electric Scooters Under ₹1 Lakh

Per our guide, Ather’s family-focused Rizta S starts at ₹1,21,999 and Rizta Z at ₹1,36,999, with 123 km or 161 km IDC, an 80 km/h top speed and 56 litres of storage. The Konarc undercuts it on price but offers 31 litres and a 70 km/h top speed on the S line.

Other listed prices (see our festive guide): Ola S1 X from ₹84,999, Vida VX2 Go ₹83,000–95,000 effective in Delhi, TVS iQube 2.3 kWh from ₹94,434* and Bajaj Chetak C2501 from ₹95,802. *”From” prices may exclude variants or city charges, so compare battery size and local service.

Ather Konarc Features: Steel Unibody, Silent Gear Drive and Smart Tech

  • Build: steel unibody chassis and metal rear panels, a first for Ather.
  • Ride: 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloys, long-travel suspension, silent gear drive.

Konarc Charging Guide: Combined Charging, Ather Grid Speed and Cost per 100 km

The built-in onboard charger needs no charging brick. Adding a 450W offboard charger enables Combined Charging, which can halve home charging time to about two hours.

At an Ather Grid, expect up to 15 km in 10 minutes, and up to 30 km on select variants. Ather’s calculator estimates ₹100 buys 446 km on the Konarc, versus 59 km on a 110cc and 40 km on a 125cc scooter. Delhi NCR has 17 Experience Centres and 209 grid points.

About Ather Energy and Its Parent Company
