MG has given India’s best-selling electric car a limited-edition makeover. The MG Windsor EV Indulge keeps the 38 kWh drivetrain but adds a Shadow Gold finish, a tan-and-black leather-pack cabin and a first-in-segment rear drop-down screen. MG’s brochure cites JATO Dynamics certification of the Windsor as India’s No. 1 selling EV passenger car, based on wholesale data from October 2024 to August 2026. Here is what changes, what stays the same, and how the Indulge compares with the regular Windsor and the Windsor Pro.
What Is the MG Windsor EV Indulge Limited Edition?

MG positions the Windsor Indulge as an elevated expression of Business Class, built around distinctive design, enhanced comfort and thoughtful details. It is based on the 38 kWh Windsor and is sold as a limited edition celebrating two years of the model. Our MG Windsor EV review found that space, not speed, drives Windsor purchases, and the Indulge builds on exactly that strength.
Who Makes the Windsor EV? MG Motor India and Its Corporate Background
JSW MG Motor India Pvt. Ltd. is the entity behind MG cars sold in India. Our guide to MG electric cars in India lists three MG EVs under ₹20 lakh: the Comet EV, Windsor EV and ZS EV. It credits MG’s EV lead to Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), the eHUB charging app and an Assured Buyback Programme, with over 75,000 Windsors sold. Our BE 6 comparison notes that the Windsor’s platform derives from the Baojun Yunduo, a Chinese-market MPV-crossover.
What Is New in the Windsor EV Indulge?
- Exterior: Shadow Gold colour, R18 black alloy wheels, black outside mirrors and Indulge badging.
- Cabin: Urban Tan and Black man-made leather seats, Royal Touch gold highlights, and a leather pack covering the dashboard, driver armrest, door trims and steering wheel.

BaaS prices are MG website entry prices for each model. Other regular-Windsor and Pro details come from our Windsor review.
Under BaaS, the Indulge starts ₹3.15 lakh above the entry Windsor, which buys styling, comfort and the rear screen rather than more range or power. Notably, the Windsor Pro’s BaaS entry price is ₹12.25 lakh, lower than the Indulge’s, although its rental is higher at ₹4.50/km.
Is the Windsor Indulge Better Than the Windsor Pro?
It depends on how you use the car. Our review calls the Pro “the more complete car” for buyers who can stretch, thanks to its 52.9 kWh battery, Level 2 ADAS and powered tailgate. We estimate 350–380 km of real-world range from the Pro. The Indulge suits city-focused buyers who value rear-seat comfort and entertainment. The BE 6 comparison also notes that the Windsor has not been through Bharat NCAP testing, so no official crash rating is available to separate the variants.
What Is the Battery Warranty and Replacement Cost for the Windsor Indulge?
MG advertises a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner and a buyback of up to 60% within three years. The buyback is sold separately under the MG Value Promise Program, and its value depends on age, mileage and condition.
Our battery replacement report estimates a 38 kWh pack at about ₹6 lakh for the part, or roughly ₹7.2 lakh with GST and labour. The warranty resets to 8 years or 1,60,000 km on resale, and BaaS owners face no replacement bill. At ₹4.30/km, a driver covering 1,500 km a month would pay about ₹6,450 in monthly rental.
What Is the Real-World Range of the 38 kWh Windsor?
Independent testing of the 38 kWh Windsor recorded 264 km, about 80% of the claimed figure, and long-term owners report 240–260 km in city driving. Since the Indulge uses the same pack and motor, expect similar results. Our review also flags no rear wiper and softening suspension after 10,000 km, and warns that the electronic door latches can be opened while moving, so always engage the rear child locks.
Should You Buy the MG Windsor EV Indulge?
Choose the Indulge if you want the Windsor’s space with a more premium cabin, mostly drive in the city and value rear-seat entertainment. Choose the regular Windsor if the lowest entry cost matters most, and the Pro if you regularly cover highway distances. Confirm the outright price and accessory list with your MG dealer before booking.
