How the Lamborghini Revuelto V12 Hybrid Powertrain Works

Lamborghini retains a naturally aspirated V12, producing 825 CV at 9,250 rpm and 725 Nm at 6,750 rpm, revving to a 9,500 rpm maximum. Two electric motors are mounted on the front axle, providing electric front-wheel drive and electric torque vectoring across the front wheels — a first for a V12 Lamborghini.

The third electric motor is integrated with the rear transmission area, assisting the V12 and also performing generator/recharging functions. The 3.8 kWh high-specific-power lithium-ion battery uses pouch cells and sits in the central tunnel.

The transverse 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (E-DCT) sits behind the V12, marking the first dual-clutch gearbox on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini. Together, the system can provide electric drive, hybrid assistance, all-wheel drive, torque vectoring and regenerative braking. Lamborghini calls this architecture an HPEV — High Performance Electrified Vehicle.

Lamborghini Revuelto Battery, EV Range and Charging

The Revuelto can drive for more than 10 km in full-electric mode using its electric drive system. Its 3.8 kWh battery accepts up to 7 kW AC charging and can be fully recharged externally in about 30 minutes.

Lamborghini also provides regenerative charging and a Recharge function in which the V12 can replenish the battery in about six minutes. This is a distinct in-drive charging method rather than a substitute for plugging in.

The Revuelto offers four main driving modes: Città, Strada, Sport and Corsa. Città is the zero-emission, fully electric mode designed for urban use, while Strada prioritises comfort and everyday usability. Sport increases responsiveness and driving involvement, while Corsa is designed for track use. These modes can be combined with the hybrid-system settings, creating 13 different combinations.

Across these modes, the electric motors assist with traction, torque vectoring and regenerative braking, working alongside the V12 rather than replacing it.
